High Voltage Generator

 Origin
With the capacity expansion of plant room, there is a growing demand for capacity of diesel gensets as standby power. In order to meet the requirements of the load, several high power diesel gensets are paralleled. However, the gap between load of plant room and actual use is farther. Many operation and transmission defects are exposed from the traditional parallel operation of multiple low voltage diesel gensets. To obtain safer and more reliable operation, it is a wiser choice to use high voltage gensets.
High voltage gensets are used in emergency backup power systems, like metallurgy enterprises, airports, data centers, etc. Since high voltage genset’s output voltage of 10kV is consistent with voltage of original power supply system, it can be directly accessed in power supply system, thus saving a large amount of investment in power supply and distribution system. Meanwhile, high voltage genset is suitable for long distance transportation owing to its high output voltage, small output current and the minimum power loss in power transmission process.
According to the above application characteristics of high and low voltage diesel gensets, high voltage diesel gensets have distinct advantages of large capacity, long distance power supply, high reliability, simple supporting power distribution system, etc. on occasions of need for higher capacity and longer transmission distance. High voltage diesel genset is the inevitable trend of the application of large capacity gensets, which has been widely used in banks, data centers, metallurgy, civil aviation, etc.
Main voltage levels of 50Hz high voltage diesel gensets are 6kV, 6.3kV, 6.6kV, 10kV, 10.5kV, 11kV, etc.
Single unit power is generally more than 1000kW, multiple gensets are parallel operated.
